There are many ways that volunteers can help over Synod week. Please let us know how you can help.
- Billeting/Accommodation for synod delegates: If you live in Christchurch and can open your home to host one or more delegates for the week of synod, please select the Billeting button above and fill in the form.
~ Some delegates will arrive on Friday 6th September, others on Saturday 7th.
~ Delegates will be at Synod from 3pm-9pm on Saturday, 9am-9pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to approx. 3pm on Friday 13th.
~ Delegates will have lunches and dinners at Synod, so most days you will only need to provide breakfast. - Transport: Out of town delegates will need to be picked up from the airport and taken to where they will be staying over Synod, and then be dropped back at the airport when Synod is finished. Many will need to be transported to and from Synod each day. Is this something you can help with?
- Kitchen: Assistance will be needed with food service and clean up for lunches and dinners, and also with morning and afternoon teas. Is this an area in which you would be willing to help?
- Control desk – sound or data: Sound and data projection will be required throughout Synod with the exception of “in-committee” sessions. Do you have experience in either of these roles, and would you be willing/able to volunteer for some sessions during Synod?
- Other needs may become more apparent as Synod comes nearer – are you willing to be contacted for help?
